Movie “The Promise” to be released in Europe

The movie The Promise will be released in theaters in Europe in the spring of 2017. The film is a beautiful love story against the tragic backdrop of the Armenian genocide in 1915. Produced by Survival Pictures and directed by Terry George, The Promise is the first feature film of this scale to shed light on the Armenian genocide. It was scheduled for release on April 21 in the US. In Europe the movie will hit the theaters on April 28 in the UK, May 19 in Sweden, June 2 in Spain and June 15 in The Netherlands.

The plot of the movie

Brilliant medical student Michael (Oscar Isaac) meets beautiful dance instructor Ana (Charlotte Le Bon) in late 1914. Their shared Armenian heritage sparks an attraction that explodes into a romantic rivalry between Michael and Ana’s boyfriend (Christian Bale), an American photojournalist who’s dedicated to exposing the truth. As the Ottoman Empire crumbles into war-torn chaos, their conflicting passions must be deferred as they join forces to get themselves and their people to safety.
